The Police have arrested two men after they robbed a Chinese woman at Parika, East Bank Essequibo.
“Swift response by ranks of ‘D’ Division (West Demerara) has led to the arrest of two males, age 27 and 17 who hail from Essequibo Coast and East Coast Demerara respectively, in connection with an alleged armed robbery committed on Jin Li-Luo, female, 37, who operates a supermarket at Parika Highway, East Bank Essequibo,” Police headquarters stated.
According to Police, the suspects entered the supermarket, made a purchase and then one of the suspects whipped out what appeared to be a handgun, demanded cash and made good their escape on foot. A police patrol responded and confronted a suspect who was shot in the right foot.
Based on further information received, the other suspect was arrested last night in Parika.
