    As the season winds down with the final two events remaining, the competition for championship honours is stiff in the seven categories of the GT Motorsports Georgetown Grand Prix.

    Drivers will have an opportunity to add valuable points to their tally this weekend (October 21) when the Georgetown Grand Prix ‘Caribbean Showdown’ gets underway at 18:00h. The categories are Shifter Pro Cup, 125cc Junior, 125cc Senior, Easy Cup Heavy, Easy Cup Light, Easy Cup Rookie and Sun Burst Kids Cup 60cc.

     

     

    Haniff Mohamed

    There is a close battle for top spot in the Easy Cup Light with Haniff Mohamed (107 points), Raymond Seebarran (105) and Ravi Singh (103) all closely bunched. They are followed by Stephen Vieira (86), Jean Claude Jeffrey (65), Brian Tenpow (55), Ralph Persaud (49), Shan Seejatan (30), Darryl Timmers (25) and Andrew Ally (22).

    Bridget Singh

    The 125cc Senior is also a closely-fought affair with Trinidad and Tobago’s Bridget Singh (115) just ahead of the Guyanese pair Denzel Hopkinson (101) and Matthew Phang (95). Mikhail Persaud is in fourth spot on 64 points, followed by Emma Vieira (63), Terry Singh (56), Elan Rahaman (39) and Rayden Persaud (38).

    Mikhail Persaud

    Mikhail Persaud leads the 125cc Junior with 205 points, 61 more than second place Elan Rahaman, who sits on 144. They are followed by Rayden Persaud (129), John Phang (127), Gianni Carpenter (42), Faraud Mohamed (39) and V. Singh (24).

    Raymond Baksh

    Raymond Baksh leads the Easy Cup Rookie with 133 points, comfortably ahead of Ralph Persaud on 82 and Dhani Narine 76. Dharmendra Dharmo and Alexander Ally follow on 51 and 39 respectively.

    Shan Seejatan

    Shan Seejatan has opened up a gap over his nearest rival in the Easy Cup Heavy, having chalked up 186 points. He is followed by Haniff Mohamed on 93, Raymond Seebarran (65), Rameez Mohamed (54), Andrew Ally (30), Marcel Profitt (18) and Mahendra Boodhoo (10).

    Jeremy Tenpow

    The Sun Burst Kids Cup 60cc, which features the young and upcoming drivers, has been fiercely competitive. Jeremy Tenpow is top of the pile on 188 points, followed by Paige Mendonca on 158 and Nathan Rahaman (155). Justin Tenpow is fourth on 129, while Josh Khan is way back in fifth position on 30 points.

     

     

    Kristian Jeffrey

     

     

     

    Top driver Kristian Jeffrey leads the Shifter Pro Cup on 150 points, with Eillott Vieira second on 103. Mike Gonsalves is third on 79, followed by Stefan Jeffrey (73), Carlos Rodrigues (71), Darryl Timmers (70), Matthew Phang (53), Denzel Hopkinson (46), Orry Hunte (41), Kristian Boodoosingh (22) and Mark Vieira (22).
