Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan on Tuesday released Joel Patterson on $120,000 bail for the rape of a 12-year-old girl.
The matter was held in-camera and was adjourned until October 30, 2017.
According to reports, the incident occurred during the month of September 2016.
Patterson allegedly engaged in sexual activity with the teen and it was recently discovered by her parents that she was raped.
The police are currently conducting further investigation into additional allegations of sexual assault by other men who lived with Patterson.
