It was definitely a tough day for Guyana in the hockey arena as the Guyanese Men followed their female counterparts with a loss at the Pan American Indoor Hockey Cup on Tuesday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.

After a tough 2-0 loss for the Guyanese Women against Canada that dropped their record to 0-3 in the tournament, the Men were unable to give the Guyanese crowd something to cheer about, losing 4-0 to Trinidad and Tobago.

Definitely a tough match-up, Guyana and Trinidad ended the first half in a nil-all stalemate as both teams found scoring difficult in the defensive-like game.

Trinidad came out more positively in the second half and scored two quick goals of the sticks of Aidan de Gannes and Jordan Reynos in the 25th and 27th minutes respectively.

While Guyana probed for goals they never seemed in with a chance of scoring and a defensive lapse in the final minute would allow an easy shot on target in the 40th minute by Mickell Pierre, while Jordan Vieira slotted in a brilliant aerial pass to make it 4-0 just before the final whistle.

Guyana will be in action again today (Wednesday) in both the male and female categories.
