A 21-year-old Auto Mechanic, who is accused of robbing a businessman of $3.3 in cash and other items, was remanded to prison by Magistrate Judy Latchman on Monday, October 23 following his appearance at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

Shaquille Wilburg of Public Road Buxton, East Coast Demerara, pleaded not guilty to the charge which alleged that on October 13, 2017, at Brickdam Public Road, while in the company of others and armed with guns, he robbed Linden Wilson of $3M cash along with two cellphones valued $300,000.

Police Prosecutor, Shawn Gonsalves objected to Wilburg being released on bail based on the seriousness of the charge and the penalty attached. The Magistrate ruled in the prosecution’s favour and remanded Wilburg until November 6, 2017.
