A 27- year-old old Prison Officer was on Wednesday arrested at the Mazaruni Prison with several items including a quantity of cannabis.
According to the police, the officer was found at the bachelors’ quarters with nine new cell phones and chargers, 403 grams of cannabis sativa, one sim card and one memory card in a haversack on his bed.
Information received stated that the officer had just returned from his ‘off duty’.
Investigation is in progress.
