The Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club’s (GMR&SC) International Race of Champions is picking up pace with two new sponsors confirmed on Thursday. Prem’s Electrical and B.M. Soat Auto Spares are the two companies who have handed over their contribution to the event.

In handing over Prem Electrical’s contribution, representative Nirmala Sukhram stated that the company has been onboard for a number of years and continues to be satisfied by the event.

She added that a lot of the sport’s competitors use products from Prem’s Electrical hence the company’s decision to continually give back.

Meanwhile, B.M. Soat’s Afraz Mohamed echoed the same sentiments as Sukhram, saying, “We at B.M. Soat Auto Spares are very big fans of racing. We’ve been supporting it for a number of years and we hope to continue to do so.”

In collecting the sponsorships, GMR&SC representative Saurica Singh expressed the club’s delight for the various partnerships.

The 27-race programme is billed for November 11 and 12 at the South Dakota Circuit with races happening on both days. In addition to the local races, the club has also included two sets of new events. The much talked about Radical SR3 will make their debut here during that event as part of what the club deems ‘giving back to the fans.’

There are also three professional drift cars that are expected for the event so that persons can be introduced to and excited by the different forms of entertainment on both days.

Saturday will be treated just as a race day, with adults being charged $1,000 per entry and children over 12 years $500. On Sunday, adults will be charged $2,000 and children over 12 years $1,000. Children under 12 are free.

Qualification will also be held on Saturday from 10:00h with races beginning at 14:00h. Scrutineering will take place on Thursday and Friday and before qualification on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the club is organising weekend and VIP passes for those patrons desirous of viewing both days.
