Nexus, Palm Court join International Race of Champions

Nexus Machining and Fabrication Workshop and Palm Court are the latest two companies that have signed on to the International Race of Champions 2017.

The signature event of the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC) calendar, the final leg of the Caribbean Motor Racing Championships (CMRC), will take place on November 11 and 12.

Both companies handed over their sponsorships earlier in the week with Palm Court’s Sasha Lewis stating that the company is a long-time supporter of racing. Nexus, through representative Waren Bowling, expressed elation at being onboard with the event was well.

Meanwhile, a 27-race programme was unveiled last week which will encompass racing on both Saturday and Sunday, according to the GMR&SC.

The club has confirmed the participation of two professional drift cars from Trinidad and Tobago, as well as, four SR-3 Radicals from Barbados, in addition to the Caribbean Motor Racing Championship (CMRC) competitors who are expected.

Saturday will be treated as just another race day, with adults being charged $1,000 per entry and children 12-18 being charged $500. On Sunday, adults will be charged $2000 and children 12-18, $1,000.

Qualification will also be held on Saturday morning from 10:00h with races beginning at 14:00h. Scrutineering will take place on Thursday and Friday. 

Meanwhile, the club is organising weekend and VIP passes for those patrons desirous of viewing both days of action.
