Sophia youth shot dead during row over girlfriend

Twenty – four – year old Jamal Munroe died at the Georgetown Public Hospital on Friday night (November 03) after he was shot several times by a teenager during an argument over his [Munroe’s] girlfriend.

According to a police report, the incident occurred at about 22:45hrs at Black and White Bridge, ‘C’ Field Sophia, Greater Georgetown.

Initial investigations revealed that the two men, one armed with a handgun, had an argument over a 32-year-old female, a shopkeeper of ‘D’ Field, Sophia, during which the 19-year-old suspect discharged several rounds at Munroe.

Munore was a labourer of ‘C’ Field Sophia.  He was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation where he succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical attention.
