A 31-year-old Taxi Driver was on Wednesday (November 08, 2017) remanded to prison for allegedly robbing a man of a gold chain valuing $170,000.

Quincy Abrams of Bagotville, West Coast Demerara appeared before City Magistrate, Fabayo Azore to answer to the charge of robbery under arms committed on October 29, 2017.

The court heard that while being in the company of others and armed with a gun, Abrams robbed Redrick Bowman of a gold chain valued $170,000. He denied the charge.

Police Prosecutor, Simone Payne objected to Abrams being granted bail based on the seriousness of the charge and the fact that a gun was used in the commission of the crime.

Magistrate Azore ruled in the favour of the prosecution and remanded Abrams until November 27, 2017.
