Elderly man admits to threatening to kill wife
A 63-year-old man who threatened to kill his reputed wife with a cutlass was on Friday charged and remanded to prison by City Magistrate, Leron Daly.
Linden Thomas admitted that on November 8, 2017, at Lot 16 Princess Street, Georgetown he unlawfully assaulted Kim McDonald.
The Court was told that on the day in question, Thomas and his reputed wife had a physical altercation over a male calling her cellphone. Thomas became annoyed, armed himself with a cutlass, ran the woman with the weapon and threatened to kill her.
The woman told the court that it is usual for Thomas to assault her after he consumes alcohol. The Magistrate ordered that a probation report is done in favour of Thomas before sentencing. As such, he was remanded until November 13, 2017.
