Police FC defeated Kuru Kuru FC on Tuesday evening to book a place in the semi-finals of the Turbo Knockout Football Tournament, which continued at the Ministry of Education ground.

Police pulled off a 1-0 win in what turned out to be an unexpectedly even contest, especially given the current form the lawmen have been in. Police showed signs of rust after three weeks of inactivity in the tournament, but managed to hold off a few well-orchestrated attacks from the young side.

Raul Haynes was the man to sink the sails of Kuru Kuru with his on-target shot in the 40th minute of the match. Meanwhile, Grove Hi-Tech dismantled Pele FC 3-1 to advance to the final four as well.

While the score read 2-1 after the first half, Domini Garrett scored his second goal of the match for a double in the 59th minute after scoring his first in the seventh. Denzil Crawford scored the other goal for Grove in the 27th minute, while Abassi Jarvis had Pele’s lone goal in the 41st minute.

The tournament will continue this evening at the said venue with the final two quarter-final matches. Camptown will take on Silver Shattas at 18:30h and Pouderoyen will face Mahaica Determinators at 21:00h.
