Man shot after accusing friend of having affair with wife

The police are on the hunt for Ron Robertson, who allegedly shot his friend in the stomach after he[Robertson] was accused of having an affair with the friend’s wife.

News Room understands that the victim, 27-year-old Fazel Haniff, a Mason of Mon Repos Pasture, East Coast Demerara is in a stable condition at a private hospital.

The shooting occurred at approximately 21:00hrs on Friday night at the home of Haniff. According to information reaching News Room, Haniff and his wife were at home when Robertson visited and an argument ensued.

It is alleged that Haniff picked up a knife from his kitchen table and when he turned to speak with his wife, the suspected reportedly pulled out a handgun from the waist of his pants and shot Haniff. Robertson then escaped.

Police recovered a live .32 round and one .32 spent shell at the scene.
