West Berbice and Lower Corentyne recorded wins in round two of the Guyana Cricket Board’s Jaguars Franchise League 50-over competition on Thursday. The other two scheduled games were abandoned without a ball being bowled due to unfavourable weather condition.

At Enterprise: West Berbice defeated East Coast by five runs. West Berbice 145 all out in 37.2 overs (Raffel Estriado 32, Arthley Bailey 25, Steffon Adams 19*, Amir Khan 4-33, Bhaskar Yadram 2-15, Kamesh Yadram 2-22) v East Coast 140 all out from 45.1 overs (Chandrapaul Hemraj 35, Amir Khan 30).

At Albion: Lower Corentyne defeated East Bank by eight wickets. East Bank 99 all out in 31.1 overs (Sherfane Rutherford 22, Steven Jacobs 20, Sachin Singh 17, Sharaz Ramcharran 4-20, Veerasammy Permaul 3-17) v Lower Corentyne 102-2 in 22.4 overs (Kevlon Anderson 40, Gajanand Singh 37).

The other two games at Everest and Tuschen never got started as the outfield at both venues was deemed unsuitable for play due to rainfall.

Round three will take place on Saturday (November 25) from 09:00h with East Coast doing battle against Georgetown at Enterprise; Essequibo taking on East Bank at Imam Bacchus ground; Lower Corentyne versus Upper Corentyne and West Berbice facing West Demerara at Bush Lot.
