Four arrested for robbing Brazilian, Driver

A female Brazilian national and the driver of a car she hired were on Friday robbed at Oleander Gardens, Bel Air Park, Georgetown. The incident occurred as they were about to disembark the vehicle, police said.

Ranks of the Guyana Police Force who responded quickly were able to recover almost all of the stolen items and arrested four suspects, one of whom admitted to the crime.

According to a police report, the suspects were all arrested in a house at Circle Front, East Ruimveldt, Georgetown and gave their addresses as East Ruimveldt, Mocha and Quamina Road and Beterwagting.

The victims were able to positively identify the confessed suspect and the vehicle used to commit the crime.
