A bag containing 930 grams of cannabis, 52 packs of cigarettes and other prohibited items were on Sunday found in the New Amsterdam Prison compound.
The items were thrown over the fence, police said, and were discovered by security personnel manning the facility.
Additionally, two males and a female were arrested at Weldaad Public Road, West Coast of Berbice by ranks who were conducting a routine stop and search operation, after eleven taped parcels of cannabis were discovered in the motor car in which they were travelling.
The parcels were hidden in various sections of the car and weighed five kilograms.
The suspects, aged 42, 26 and 24 years respectively, reside in New Amsterdam.
