Berbice man killed in accident, friend hospitalised

A 37-year-old man of Number 30 Village, West Coast Berbice (WCB) is now hospitalised at the New Amsterdam Hospital and his 38-year-old friend of 272 Britannia Village, dead after the vehicle they were in collided with a utility pole on the Ross Public Road, WCB.

A statement from the police said 37-year-old Sanjay Ramlochan was driving motor pickup GHH 768 allegedly at a fast rate along the Ross Public Road at about 15:00hrs on Sunday when he lost control of the vehicle.

His friend, Deodat Outar, 38, who was in the passenger seat of the vehicle, succumbed to his injuries.
