Region 8 man busted with marijuana

The police will process a Mahdia resident shortly for court after they were successful in their search of his premises which uncovered 10.9 kilograms of marijuana.

The man, who has been on the police radar for a while now, was arrested at his home on Monday morning (November 27) located at 111 Miles Mahadia, Potaro River in Region 8.

He is expected to be charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking. During the search of the man’s premises, the police recovered the illegal drugs concealed in two ten-gallon plastic pales.

The 52-year-old man who goes by the alias “glasses” is expected to be arraigned before a Magistrate at the Georgetown Magistrates’ court on Tuesday.
