Fmr. Journalist robbed at gunpoint, car hijacked

Police are investigating the armed robbery committed against Nadine Luthers-Williams, a former journalist, who was robbed at gunpoint by two men on Tuesday evening outside the Night Cap restaurant in Pere Street, Kitty.

News Room was reliably informed that Luthers-Williams and another female had just arrived at the restaurant and bar at approximately 20:00hrs to meet with friends who are visiting Guyana. She parked her white Toyota Allion motor car, registration number PVV 4879, on the eastern side of the road and was about to exit when an armed man approached the driver side of the car, pointed a gun at her and demanded that she exit the car; the young lady complied.

The accomplice, who had approached the car from the opposite door, snatched the belongings of Luthers-Williams’ female friend who was sitting in the front passenger seat.  He then ordered her out of the vehicle; they two men entered the car and drove west along the Kitty public road.

Luthers-Williams was also relieved of her Samsung Galaxy S6 cell phone, while her friend was relieved of an orange Nokia Lumina cell phone, her purse containing $25, 000 cash, a spectacle valued $140, 000 and a pair of sandals. Police investigations continue.
