MOTP employee robbed at gunpoint in North Ruimveldt home

Police are on the hunt for two men, who allegedly robbed 55-year-old Lyndon Williams and his family at gunpoint at their Lot 2312 Soufriere St, North Ruimveldt, Georgetown home in the wee hours of Tuesday, December 5, 2017.

News Room understands that Williams, who is a Telephone Technician attached to the Ministry of the Presidency (MOTP), resides in a two-flat wooden and concrete structure with his 77-year-old mother and other family members.

At about 03:00hrs on Tuesday, they were awoken by a strange noise and upon checking, Williams saw a male climbing through the eastern window of his bedroom, which is on the upper flat. The male was armed and held Williams at gunpoint, but the victim resisted after which he was beaten in the face with the gun.

The other accomplice, also armed, then came through the said window and placed Williams and his family to sit, as they stole two laptop computers, one video camera, three cell phones, gold jewellery, and keys.

News Room understands that the men escaped on a motorcycle. Police took fingerprints and investigations are ongoing.
