Cops crash newly acquired vehicle in Berbice

One of the newly acquired vehicles which were donated to the Guyana Police Force by the Chinese government crashed into a motor car on the Canje Public Road on Thursday afternoon.

The ‘B’ Division received the fleet of vehicles on Wednesday. News Room understands that the police jeep, which was moving at a fast rate of speed, overtook another vehicle and crashed into the car which was turning left into a street at the time.

The police jeep ended up in a drain after the collision.

On Wednesday, Commander of ‘B’ Division, Lyndon Alves urged the ranks to take care of the vehicles and earlier in the week, Minister of Public Security, Khemraj Ramjattan made it clear that ranks who damage police property will have to pay for it.
