PCL 4-DAY (UPDATE): Permaul (5-40) stars as Volcanoes make 117
Spinner Veerasammy Permaul picked up five wickets as Guyana Jaguars skittled out Windward Islands Volcanoes for 117 in the second session of day one of their sixth round Professional Cricket League 4-Day game at Providence.
Permaul’s 5-40 destroyed the visitors’ batting, which never showed conviction after being sent into the bat on Thursday. It was the left-arm spinner’s 24th five-wicket haul in his 99th First-Class match.
Left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie and seamer Sherfane Rutherford picked up two wickets each, while seamer Keemo Paul claimed the other.
Skipper Tyron Theophile topscored with 33. Guyana Jaguars, three-time defending champions, are leading the points standing after five rounds and are on course for a fourth consecutive title.
