Teen seriously injured in Corentyne accident

A Corentyne teenager is now a patient at the New Amsterdam Public Hospital after the motorbike he was riding collided with another teen on a bicycle on Wednesday, December 06, 2017.

Brian Persaud, 19, of Lot 26 King Street Williamsburg, Corentyne sustained a broken nose and a fractured hand while his pillion rider, Leroy Andart, 16, was treated for minor injuries and sent home.

Seventeen-year-old Simone Naido, who was on the bicycle was also treated and sent away.

News Room understands that at about 18:12 hrs on the Williamsburgh Access Road, Persaud was driving motorcycle CE 7716 when he collided with Naido. The News Room was told that Persaud was proceeding south on the Rose Hall Access Road at a fast rate of speed when he turned west on the Williamsburg Access Road and collided with the pedal cyclist who was proceeding east on the said road.

Investigations are in progress.
