GTI student charged for sharing sex video of classmate

A student of the Government Technical Institute (GTI) was on Friday, December 08, 2017, charged for posting a sex video and pictures of her fellow schoolmate in a WhatsApp group chat.

Coreen Fiffee appeared before Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court where she confessed that on June 11, 2017, via social media in a WhatsApp group, she exposed to the public, obscene photos and videos of a young lady.

Fiffee told the court that she received the photo and video from someone who told her that it was one of her classmates. A curious Fiffee explained that she sent it to her school’s WhatsApp group to find out the identity of the person, unaware that the victim was also in the said group chat.

She was fined $80,000 with an alternative of six-months imprisonment.
