Police seize PPP lamps
Police officers and security personnel attached to the Parliament Buildings have seized lamps purchased by Opposition MP, Gillian Burton-Persaud this evening.
The opposition took a decision to purchase the lamps after the lights and air conditioning units to the Chambers were turned off as they continue a sit-in.
The decision follows attempts to remove PPP MP, Juan Edghill from the Committee of Supply for failing to honour an order of the Speaker of the National Assembly, Dr Barton Scotland to sit.
The PPP plans to remain seated in the dark until 10pm – the stipulated time that the sitting is scheduled to end.
