Salesman robbed at gunpoint of $1M

Police are investigating the armed robbery committed against 36-year-old Sayaid Ahemed, which occurred on Saturday, December 9, 2017, in front of Demerara Park, East Bank Demerara Public Road at approximately 18:40hrs.

News Room understands that Ahemed, a salesman, was robbed of $1M; he had just left the Sun Foods Enterprise [Sun Shine Snacks] proceeding to Demerara Park with the daily sales in a black plastic bag to hand over to his boss, who was at Banks DIH Ltd at the time.

According to reports, the victim stopped in front of the gate at D’aguiar Park and was waiting for the security Guard to open the gate, when a silver grey Primo motor car stopped alongside him.

Two armed men from the back seat of the said car, wearing bandannas to cover their faces from the nose down, held him at gunpoint and demanded that he hand over the money.

The gunmen took the money and the car key after which they escaped in the waiting car.
