The Police were unable to determine the identity of the female who dressed as Santa Claus and invaded the Parliamentary Chambers on Friday last.

Clerk of the National Assembly, Sherlock Isaacs told News Room today that not much progress has been made in the investigation.

He said he was informed that the police are having a hard time identifying the woman who came with a bell and an Oxford Dictionary as gifts for the Leader of the Opposition Bharrat Jagdeo who was at the time making his contribution to the budget debates.

Isaacs said the Police were also unable to identify the person who escorted the female Santa out of the Public Buildings.

When asked what this impasse means for the probe, Isaacs said he does not know.

A woman dressed as Santa Claus had to be escorted out of the Parliament Buildings after she entered the Chambers ringing a bell while the Opposition Leader was speaking.

At the time, the security personnel stationed at the Parliament Buildings was unsure how the female Santa entered and the Clerk of the National Assembly had to get security to escort her out of the Chambers.

News Room was reliably informed that the female Santa is the Secretary of a government minister.
