Taxi driver dies under mysterious circumstances

A taxi driver of 92 Golden Grove, East Coast Demerara, was pronounced dead at the Georgetown Public Hospital, shortly after he complained of feeling unwell on Friday, December 15, 2017.

The police said Gloyd Montrose, 39, was operating his taxi at Haslington, ECD and at about 07:00hrs, he began feeling unwell and sought the assistance of a police mobile patrol, to take him to the hospital.

It was noted that the officers acceded to his request but when they got to the hospital, he was pronounced dead.  His family has since indicated that he was suffering from an ailment of the heart.

The body is presently at the Georgetown Public Hospital Mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination on Monday, December 18, 2017.
