A cash crop farmer of Friendship on the East Bank Demerara is now hospitalised after being shot to the right thigh during a robbery at his home at about 06:45h this morning.
Police said initial investigations revealed that the 65-year-old man was attacked by three armed men and was robbed of an undisclosed sum of cash.
He was shot to the right thigh and is in a serious but stable condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
One spent shell of a small calibre weapon was retrieved from the scene.
No arrests have been made. An investigation is ongoing.
