A 40-year-old Lab Technician, who was on her way to pay her GPL bill, was attacked and robbed by two bandits on Main Street, Georgetown on Thursday, December 28 at around 13:45hrs.
News Room understands that Tamara Gibbs was robbed of her hang bag, which contained $10,000 cash, NIS card and one BLU cellular phone by two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.
The incident occurred on the western half of Main street in the vicinity of Guyana Power and Light (GPL) company as Gibbs was about to enter the compound. She was confronted by the armed perpetrator, who pointed the gun at her and demanded that she hand over her bag, which she did.
News Room understands that the perpetrator then joined his accomplice who was waiting nearby on a black and grey motorcycle and they escaped. Investigations are ongoing.
