Police are on the hunt for four men who allegedly broke into a house at Lindy Avenue, Eccles, East Bank Demerara (EBD) in the wee hours of Friday, December 29, 2017, and robbed three businessmen of cash and other valuables.
News Room understands that 68-year-old Peter Ten was robbed of his Samsung Galaxy S8 cellular phone, a Samsung J 1 Ace and $450,000 in cash; his friend, 37-year-old Jacky Kwok was robbed of his iPhone 7 plus, $1.5M in cash and 56-year-old Kuan Jian Yong was robbed of $30,000 cash.
Reports indicate that four masked men, two of whom were armed with handguns, broke into the two storey wooden and concrete house between 4 am and 5 am and woke up the victims. The suspects gained entry by breaking out the vent blocks from the washroom area on the southeastern wall of the lower flat.
News Room understands that the bandits had a dark coloured cloth tied across their faces from the eyes down, held the businessmen at gunpoint and relieved them of the items and cash.
The bandits reportedly escaped in a waiting silver grey motorcar, which was parked several houses away.
