Teacher robbed at gunpoint of $1.2M in Alberttown

A teacher who withdrew $1.2M from Citizens Bank today was confronted by armed men outside her Third Street Alberttown, Georgetown home where she was robbed of the cash, an additional $50,000 and her handbag.

News Room understands that 50-year-old Kathryn Persico-Newtown was attacked by two men on a motorcycle, one of whom was armed, at around 10:32hrs. 

According to information received, the woman had just arrived home from the bank and was at her gate when she saw the two perpetrators approached from north of Light Street and turned west on Third Street.

 

News Room understands that the pillion rider came off the motorcycle with a gun in his hand, pointed it at the victim and told her to hand over the bag. The victim became afraid and did as the bandits demanded. Investigations are ongoing.
