Vendor robbed of gold chain, diamond ring on America Street

A vendor who was preparing to head home was attacked and robbed of his gold chain valued at $135,000; a gold and diamond ring valued at $125,000 and $55,000 in cash at America Street, Georgetown.

Twenty – Seven – year old Dexter Forrester was robbed by three men, one of whom was armed, on January 01, 2018 at around 23:10hrs. Forrester sells clothing, costume jewellery and phone accessories at the corner of America and Longden Streets and at the time, he was packing his stocks into his car which was parked on the Northern half of America Street when he observed a silver grey Premio motor car heading East on America Street, which is a one way.

News Room understands that the drove past him but turned around and stopped parallel to his car; one of the perpetrators exited from the back right side passenger seat with gun drawn, pointed it at the victim and said, “Don’t move.”

The other perpetrator then exited from the back left side passenger seat, rushed to the victim and made him lie on the ground as they relieved him of his cash and jewellery.

According to reports reaching News Room, the armed perpetrator discharged a round in an unknown direction and then escaped in the car. The scene was searched by police but no spent shell was found. Investigations are ongoing.
