GDF rank, husband busted with illegal gun, ammo

The police have arrested a 34-year-old female member of the Guyana Defence Force and her 32-year-old husband, who is a taxi driver following the discovery of an unlicensed 9mm pistol with seven matching rounds.

A brief police statement on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, noted that an intelligence operation was conducted by the Narcotics Branch of the Police Force on January 02 at the couple’s Latchmie Street, Better Hope, East Coast Demerara home, when the items were found.

Police also found a matching 9mm spent shell in the yard. Investigations are ongoing.
