The Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation ended the year with a junior 3-on-3 qualifier tournament with Supreme Dub Ballers claiming the title at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.

Supreme Dub Ballers took down Royals 15-11 in the final of the tournament, which attracted over 52 players from regions of Guyana. It took the Ballers three games to win the tournament and they had to play hard against a Royals team that saw Kobe Tappin dominate.

However, the Ballers showed great patience and had all of their players contribute to the victory with Nigel Bowen dropping seven points, while Akeem Crandon scored four. Akeem Bowen and Shamar France scored two points each.

The young female players are all smiles after their success

Tappin dropped eight of Royals 11 points in the final, while Immanuel Larose scored the remainder. Crandon, who was the team captain, won Most Valuable Player (MVP) honours for the tournament and called it a “good” win by his team while crediting his opponents for their play on the court.

Meanwhile, the female team of Annalisa Barclay, Lydia Roberts, Roschelle Campbell and Soffiya Greene won on the female side with Barclay dropping six points.

Both teams will now represent Guyana in the 2018 International Basketball Foundation (IMF) 3×3 International Under-18 Championships in St. Marteen.
