Bandits pounce on duo in Nandy Park


Police are investigating an armed robbery which was committed on a 26-year-old compliant officer and the Dean of the College of Medicine at Texila University on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at around 13:15hrs.

News Room understands that Nanda Kishore was driving with the 38-year-old Dean, Krishna Mohan, when two males stopped the vehicle on the Continental Park access road, in the vicinity of the Nandy Park nursery school on the East Bank of Demerara.

According to reports, Kishore stopped the vehicle when the suspects, one armed with a handgun and the other with a “jucker”, jumped into the vehicle, held them at gunpoint and relieved them of their valuables.

Kishore lost one iPhone 6S valued at $150,000 and $30,000 cash while Mohan was relieved of $36,000 cash.
The men then exited the vehicle and made good their escape.
