Two killed by fallen tree

The bodies of two men were found in an area up the Potaro River on Friday, January 06, 2018. It is believed that the men were crushed by a fallen tree.

According to information received, a 40-year-old miner called Ganesh and his 25-year-old co-worker, who was only identified as “dougla” were in the process of working when a nearby tree fell and pinned them at about 15:30hrs.

The men reportedly died instantly as Ganesh was found with his head crushed and almost severed.

Both bodies were taken to Mahdia district hospital.
