    By Leroy Smith

The body of Tevin Parris, a young businessman was found in his Garnett Street, Kitty, Georgetown home with a bullet wound to his head on Monday, 08 January 2018.

Parris was one of the many young persons, who was involved in the just concluded Golden Smile Family Old School Party in the National Park; he was also the Manager of the Corner Kick Sports Bar located at Lime Street.

When the News Room arrived at the location, forensic detectives from the Criminal Investigations Department as well as ranks from ‘A’ Division were conducting their investigations.

Police sources said that the young man was found with a single bullet wound to his head. The News Room has since confirmed that the young businessman was not the holder of a licensed firearm.

His mother told the media that her son had everything that he wished for and was not suicidal; she begged journalists not to report her son took his own life. The grieving mother believes that her son was murdered.

She spoke of him having lots of girls, money and even a visa which made him unlikely to want to take his own life. The distraught woman related that her son is not fond of travelling out of Guyana although he had many opportunities to do so.

The mother said that her only wish is for justice to be served. One of the young man’s relatives told News Room that Parris’ role in the Golden Smile Family’s Old School Party was not a financial one.

The relative emphasised that it was not a case where Parris had any money on him, since the proceeds from that event were immediately deposited into a city bank.

Like the mother of Parris, that relative said that the young man could not have taken his own life and recalled that he was full of energy on Sunday morning while talking with the family.

Relatives also told News Room that the young businessman would have always sought the advice of his elders when something was bothering him.
