Police are investigating a shooting incident which occurred at Lot 263 Section ‘A’ Block X Diamond, East Bank Demerara at around 22:30 hrs on Monday, January 08, 2018.
News Room was reliably informed that the two-storey concrete house is occupied by 57-year-old Anita Alli and two of her six sons – 27-year-old Steven Alli, who is an Accounts Clerk and 29-year-old Shafeek Alli, who is an Engineer.
According to reports, Steven in a statement told the police that he was in his bedroom, when he heard several loud explosions, while his mother and brother were sleeping.
Upon checking, he saw several bullet holes on the eastern window of the house. Six pieces of metal fragments were found on the floor of the sitting room and two 9mm spent shells were found on the road next to the house. Investigations are ongoing.
