3 charged with breaking into cars, stealing items

Three men appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, charged with breaking into several cars at the National Park during the ‘Flashback’ show on Sunday, January 7.

Eon Thompson, a 35-year-old Taxi Driver of West Ruimveldt; Courtney Sabola, a 33-year-old Mechanic of Republic Park, East Bank Demerara; Marlon Williams, a 38-year-old bus driver of ‘B’ Field Sophia, were jointly charged with three counts of break and enter with larceny.

Particulars of the first charge alleged between January 6, 2018, and January 7, 2018, at Georgetown, they broke and entered the car of Kenneth David and stole a tape deck, amplifier and other items totalling $153,200.

It is further alleged that at the same date and location, they broke into the minibus of Derrick Henry and stole a minibus jack, a spanner and mirror, total value of $78,900.

Lastly, the court heard that the duo on January 7, 2018, broke and entered the car of Ricky Noods and stole car batteries, two rear view mirrors, a music set and other items totalling $375,000.

The unrepresented men denied the charges and were released on $25,000 bail on each count. The matter is adjourned to February 7, 2018.
