Festival City pensioner robbed after leaving bank

Police are on the hunt for a gunman on a motorcycle, who robbed 74-year-old Whitfield Wright of $527,00- in cash on Tuesday, January 09, 2018 at about 13:45hrs at his Mittelholzer Street, Festival City, North Ruimveldt, Georgetown home.

News Room understands that the pensioner visited Scotiabank on Robb Street, Georgetown where he withdrew the money to pay his employees.

He arrived home when the suspect followed him into the yard, held him at gunpoint and relieved him of the cash, which was inside a yellow envelope. The perpetrator then made good his escape. Investigations are ongoing.
