Guyana is one of three countries being touted as possible host of the Hero Caribbean Premier League (Hero CPL) Player Draft 2018.

That’s according to Chief Operations Officer of the Hero CPL, Pete Russell, who is currently in Guyana meeting with key stakeholders, including the government and the management of the local franchise Guyana Amazon Warriors.

Russell indicated that the Player Draft, billed for March 1, will be held in Guyana, India or England. A final decision on the host nation will be made in the coming weeks.

Prior to the Player Draft, the six franchises would have to confirm their list of retained players by January 26. News Room understands the sixth edition of the Hero CPL is slated to start in August and conclude in September.

Additionally, Russell said Guyana would host five games this year, an increase from four over the last five seasons.
