The Police in ‘B’ Division are investigating the circumstances that led to the explosion of a police vehicle, which subsequently burst into flames inside the compound of a police station on the East Bank of Berbice on Wednesday, January 10, 2018.
News Room understands that at about 18:30hrs, ranks had just returned to the Sisters Police Station, which also houses the Sisters Magistrate’s Court and had disembarked the vehicle when they observed a spark.
News Room was informed that moments later, the vehicle, PMM 9646, exploded and a huge fire ensued.
Residents who witnessed the incident flocked the area and formed a bucket brigade as they assisted the officers to put out the blaze. (Royan Abrams)
