Student robbed by armed bandit who escaped in taxi

A 21 – year old male student was on Tuesday night robbed of over $100,000 in valuables after he left the Church’s Chicken outlet on Camp and Middle Streets, Georgetown.

Dominique Garraway was robbed of two gold bands valuing $30,000 each, a pair Rayban sunglasses worth $25,000 and $25,000 in cash at about 21:00hrs at the corner of Crown and New Garden Streets.

News Room understands that Garraway and a group of friends left the fast-food outlet and were walking east along Middle Street when they observed a burgundy Allion motorcar with a Green Ice logo parked in front of Church’s.

News Room understands that the driver and another man were sitting in the car and ss the group reached in the vicinity of Crown and New Garden Streets, the motorcar approached and stopped in their path. A man with a handgun then approached from another direction and demanded that Garraway hand over his valuables.

The perpetrator then joined the burgundy motorcar and made his good escape. Investigations are ongoing.
