609 Dynamic Airways passengers to get refund

A total of 609 passengers in Guyana who purchased tickets to travel on the now-defunct Dynamic Airways are eligible to receive a refund.

The Ministry Public Infrastructure (MOPI), in a statement Thursday, said it has initiated the process to access a bond for the sum of US$200,000, which was lodged by Dynamic International Airways in collaboration with their local handling agent, Roraima Airways Inc.

The funds will be used to refund the passengers in Guyana, provided that they have not been able to use the whole or part of the ticket to travel.

The Ministry explained that Roraima Airways has submitted a list of 609 passengers who are eligible for the refund.

The MOPI said it will publish the names of the eligible passengers in the local press, and details for these individuals to uplift their refunds.

The Ministry also urged that passengers eligible for a refund whose names are not published are asked to contact Roraima Airways Inc.

Last September, Dynamic Airways pulled out of the local market after having served the Guyana – New York route since 2014, leaving questions about refunds to persons still holding tickets.
