The police in ‘C’ Division on Thursday arrested a male at Sophia, East Coast Demerara (ECD) for allegedly robbing several persons at knifepoint of their cellular phones on the Seawall recently.
The police said the victims were robbed while they were either exercising or relaxing.
The stolen items were also recovered.
The man is said to have served several prison terms for armed robbery in the past and is expected to be placed on several identification parades in connection with other crimes before he makes his court appearance.
Additionally, a D’Urban Street, Lodge resident is in custody for receiving stolen property.
