Bhagwandin wins Trophy Stall season-opening golf tourney
The 2018 golf season teed off last weekend with the Trophy Stall sponsored tournament at the Lusignan Golf Course, East Coast Demerara.
The competition attracted over 30 players, who were vying for some attractive trophies put up by the sponsor Ramesh Sunich, the proprietor of the Trophy Stall.
Mahendra Bhagwandin started the season in the best possible fashion, copping the top podium spot. He recorded a Gross of 88 and Net 66. Ravi Persaud took second place with Gross 85 and Net 67, while eight-time Guyana Open champion Avinash Persaud rounded off the top three with Gross 70 and Net 68.
Mike Mangal, with Gross 80 and Net 71, finished fourth. Avinash Persaud copped the Best Gross prize, while Haresh Tiwari was Nearest-to-the-Pin. The Trophy Stall tournament is the first in a long list of events the Lusignan Golf Club has organised for 2018.
