    One hundred students from the Lusignan Primary School, East Coast Demerara on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, received backpacks and other school supplies from a Trinidadian container company, Tanks-A-Lot in partnership with oil giant, ExxonMobil.

    President of the container company, A.J. Cannata, said the donation is part of building partnerships as it establishes itself in Guyana. He noted that the company has been working since 2000 in Trinidad which is another oil producing country.

    Cannata also disclosed that the company employs a number Guyanese and is hoping have a full complement of Guyanese staff. The students were selected by the teachers at the school from grades One to Six, while the entire school population received snacks. Tanks-A-Lot Inc. was formed in May of 1995 for the purposes of serving the Offshore Oil and Gas industry in the Gulf of Mexico.

    The company said it then evolved to become a leading provider of Cargo Carrying Units (CCU’s) with a diverse fleet and dedicated staff that can provide units for any material handling application in the offshore environment.
