Test batsman Shimron Hetmyer has been drafted into the Guyana Jaguars squad for the final round of the Professional Cricket League Four-day tournament, starting Thursday.

Hetmyer has replaced veteran batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul, who has opted out of this round, while left-arm spinner Anthony Adams has been recalled in place of all-rounder Romario Shepherd. Those are the only changes to the squad for the final round game against Trinidad and Tobago Red Force, slated for the National Stadium, Providence.

Hetmyer recently toured with the West Indies team on that dreaded series in New Zealand, appearing in six games spread equally across the three formats. He managed 122 runs in four Test innings, including a career-best 66; 31 runs in two ODIs and seven in one T20 knock.

The Jaguars, unbeaten with six wins, two drawn encounters and a tie, have already won the tournament, copping the title for the fourth year in succession. They have amassed 145.2 points and are way ahead of second place Barbados Pride on 94.6.

Their opponents for the final round, Trinidad and Tobago Red Force, languish at the bottom of the table on 80 points, with just two wins to show from their nine games this season.

The squad reads: Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Chandrapaul Hemraj, Leon Johnson (Captain), Vishaul Singh (Vice-captain), Akshaya Persaud, Keemo Paul, Anthony Bramble, Raymon Reifer, Veerasammy Permaul, Gudakesh Motie, Shimron Hetmyer, Antony Adams and Sherfane Rutherford.
