Teen dies after beating from husband in Baramita

An 18-year-old housewife of Baramita, North-West Districted (NWD) is now dead after she was beaten by her reputed husband on January 17, 2018.

Lorinda Thomas succumbed to her injuries at the Baramita Health Centre a day after the thrashing.

News Room understands that Thomas was heading home via walking when she was approached by her reputed husband known as “Abdool”. An argument ensued and he allegedly pushed her to the ground and dealt several kicks to her abdomen, rendering her unconscious.

Police sources explained that when the young woman regained consciousness, she was lying in grass, her abdomen was paining and the husband was nowhere to be found.

Thomas reportedly went home but woke up the following day with an intense pain in her abdominal region.

News Room was informed that the teen went to the health centre where she was admitted a patient but later succumbed while receiving treatment.

The suspect is yet to be apprehended; investigations are ongoing.
